Today we’d like to introduce you to Allen Kopelman

Hi Allen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

January 2001, myself and my business partner David Burney decided to start Nationwide Payment Systems with the idea that we would provide personal and concierge style service to business owners in South Florida. We started selling locally and soon grew to selling all over the USA.

As the business changed, we made changes to become more focused on Technology and Fintech! We work with all size businesses with a variety of industries. We are always working on new technology products to help business owners.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

We have a had a few challenges along the way the very first year we were in business, 9-11 happened and local cities stopped issuing occupational licenses and that caused a delay in getting new businesses set up and we got stuck with equipment that we had to unload quickly.

2008-9 when we had a down turn in the economy that caused a lot of businesses to evaluate what they were paying for and people who had side hustles and not making money closed down those businesses.

Covid was another challenge with many businesses shut down- we made adjustments and actually when many people were sitting at home we got to work and grew the company!

In the past trying to get people on a zoom meeting was not easy to do – but during the pandemic it became popular and I was already good at doing zoom meetings and I was doing it for a few years already showing people software demos.
We have always overcome challenges and come out on top! 2001 to still being here in 2025.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I was Chef and worked in Restaurants, Hotels and Country Clubs in the early part of my life – while working in Dallas the restaurants I worked at were named as top places to dine. When I moved back to Florida in 1992 – later opening my restaurant in Boca Raton – Food Amongst the Arts, the restaurant was written about in many magazines and newspaper and the Palm Beach Post names it one of the top 10 restaurants in Palm Beach County.

Nationwide Payment Systems start in 2001, now I write for a publication called the Green Sheet which is the oldest payments magazine for the industry a column called Street Smarts for a second year and I launch a podcast called – B2B Vault the biz to biz podcast with over 300 episodes – This year in 2025 the format has been changed and I am interviewing business leaders about various subjects – Ai, Sales, Marketing – finance and more!

What matters most to you? Why?

What matters most – my children, family my dog rocky – giving back — I give back in a few ways – giving back to the industry by writing a column – the podcast and giving back to local charities in South Florida which I do personally and the company.
